this is a test excerpt with a few lines of text that allows vertigo to control the content of any previews of blog post (in this case press release) content. It allows greater control over the content on the blog archive pages, so that clipping of text does not occur. It also allows for the content of the excerpt to act as a summary of the post, rather than copying the content of the first few lines.
